Behind The Song

Just started our "Behind the Song" series! We give background information to our tracks, answers to questions like what inspired the lyrics? how did the songwriting process come about? etc.. This happens on Fanklub, a platform similar to Patreon or Substack, but specifically music-related. You can subscribe for free. But it's also a tool to help us become more self-sufficient as a band, therefore we appreciate a subscription with a small donation starting from EUR 1.99/month. We've seen that this truly makes a difference for us when covering expenses related to album production. On the other hand, our (always and forever free) monthly newsletter is more about staying updated about tours and releases. Subscribing to both gives you the full picture of what's moving us on our artistic path.

Want to receive more background stories? Visit OY's Fanklub page. Much love, Joy & Melodydreamer.

New Single Nkrabea-Destiny !

We're excited to share our news single Nkrabea-Destiny with you!

It's the title song of our soundtrack for a documentary filmed in Ghana, and combines personal roots with Amapiano sounds, Afrobeats and Highlife chords. Nkrabea means destiny in theTwi-language, which is also the native tongue of Joy's father. The accompanying documentary "Fight For The Ball" tells the story of Kaka, a 20 year old aspiring footballer who returns to Kumasi for a heartfelt farewell with his mentor, Coach Sani.

Find the track on all streaming platforms, and on sale on bandcamp!

The single’s artwork, created by Yaw Tony, features a modern interpretation of the Nkrabea symbol, representing destiny in Ghanaian Akan culture. This emblem serves as a reminder to embrace life’s opportunities while recognizing the influence of chance in shaping our paths.

Thanks for your ears and support ! Feel free to subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date with our upcoming releases.
